The opening of the mass began outside with a procession led by the Charismatic Renewal group. Present as the con-celebrant of the mass was the parish priest, Fr. Martinus Widyatmoko SMM.

Reflecting on the Bible readings of the day, the Archbishop talked about the gospel where Jesus rose from the dead and he is one in body and soul and alive in spirit.

Archbishop Young explained that Jesus died on the cross to save all from all sins. The mark of pain on the body of Jesus shows his love for us.

He added on by saying that everyone needs to spread the good news of Jesus; and know how to look after one’s own body for it is the body of Christ. Putting into perspective that the body needs to be physically fit, and spiritually filled with knowledge and wisdom. Encouraging the parishioners to spiritually grow in faith.

The Archbishop in his concluding remarks highlighted that one of the biggest missions embedded in them as Bishops is to evangelize to young people and in helping them come closer to God.

After the mass, the Chairman of the parish, Elias Eno acknowledged the presence of Archbishop Young whilst a mother, Nelly Nicholas from the Charismatic Renewal group, presented him with a bilum as a gift from the congregation.

With the presentation of gifts and the acknowledgment from the parishioners, Archbishop Young was then invited for lunch with the parishioners, making the atmosphere solemnly filled with laughter and happiness.
