Mendi: St John Irawi Parish in the Catholic Diocese of Mendi celebrated its Silver Jubilee from January 10-12, 2025.
This milestone was well attended by many and shared with the Franciscan Clarist Congregation Sisters (FCC) in Papua New Guinea, particularly at Irawi Parish.
The journey of the community has not always been easy as they have faced numerous challenges and difficult times, Nevertheless, the Parishioners have remained in their Catholic faith, supported by various priests who shepherded the flock over the years.
Parish priest Fr Shijo Joseph HGN has been described as a guiding light leading up to the 25th Silver Jubilee.
The celebration stands as a testament to their commitment to faith and community, demonstrating that even in challenging times, unity and perseverance can bring joy and gratitude.
Congratulations to the parishioners of St John Irawi Parish, Fr Shijo Joseph HGN and the FCC Sisters for their dedication and resilience over the past 25 years!
